Ajman Police Unveil New Nursery and Clinics to Support Inmate Rehabilitation

Ajman Police have launched a series of meaningful upgrades at the emirate's Correctional and Rehabilitation Institution, focusing on dignity, skill-building, and family support.

During an inspection visit on February 17, 2026, senior officials reviewed new projects designed to improve the lives of inmates and better prepare them for life after release. These developments signal a strong commitment to rehabilitation over punishment.

What's New?

The upgrades focus on three key areas: health, family, and skills.

  • Family Support: A dedicated nursery has been established to support incarcerated mothers and their young children, helping to maintain the crucial mother-child bond.
  • Healthcare Upgrades: The facility's medical and dental clinics, along with the on-site laboratory and pharmacy, have been significantly improved to ensure inmates have access to proper healthcare.
  • Skills Training: Perhaps most importantly, the institution has expanded its vocational workshops and training facilities. These programmes are designed to equip inmates with practical skills that will help them find employment and successfully reintegrate into society after their release.

Officials Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi and Brigadier Sultan Khalifa Al Muhairi toured the facility on February 17 to review these enhancements, which also cover inmate affairs, security, and accommodation for both men and women.

The message from Ajman Police is clear: these efforts are about more than just custody. They are about protecting inmates' rights, ensuring their safety, and providing them with a real chance to build a stable future for themselves and their families.
